There’s no doubt that Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals deliver quality healthcare to residents in the local region.  These hospitals deliver healthcare to residents in the Macarthur region  providing a range of services including cardiology, maternity, gynaecology, palliative care, respiratory and stroke medicine, surgery and emergency medicine, and aged-care services. Why not get involved as a volunteer?

Volunteering at your local Macarthur hospitals is a terrific step. You will help make them ‘warm and inviting’ places. After all – who wants to end up as a hospital patient? But you’ll meet up with the wonderful volunteers in the wards. They work so hard right across the hospital in areas like fundraising, giving directions to patients and visitors, and providing a friendly face for  patients to talk to. They also raise much needed money. If you’ve ever visited someone at Campbelltown Hospital, chances are you’ve encountered members of the Campbelltown Hospital Auxiliary. They’re the folks who sell baby goods from two little stores inside the hospital – always there to greet people with a smile and a kind word. In 2019, they celebrated their 65th birthday of assisting the hospital and its patients.  The auxiliary has raised more than $1 million for Campbelltown Hospital throughout the years and purchased a raft of invaluable pieces of equipment and goods in that time.

The auxiliary had secured items like a buggy to carry patients from one side of the hospital to the other, recliner chairs, bladder scanners for every ward and more. The auxiliary purchases items for all areas of the hospital except the paediatric unit, which is covered by the Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation, and the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, which is assisted by the 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur.

Anyone looking to volunteer and knit goods for the stalls can have a chat with members at the hospital.
